Please note: You must complete an application to Ss. Neumann Goretti prior to registering for the Entrance Exam. Students who have not completed an application will not be able to receive their exam results, scholarship eligibility, or an admissions decision.
Test Date
All 8th graders applying to Saints Neumann Goretti are required to take our Entrance Exam. Students may only take the test once. If your child attends a Catholic grade school in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, please check to see if we are administering our test at the school prior to registering for one of our test dates.
About the Test
The test consists of one section of reading and one section of math, and is taken online. Students will have two hours to complete the exam. One week prior to the exam date, we will send detailed instructions, as well as an honor contract for students to electronically sign and return. Please note that students will be required to be on video (Zoom or similar) for the duration of their exam, so we can monitor for test integrity. In order to take the virtual exam, students will need:
- A quiet testing location, seated at a desk or table, free of distractions
- A computer, laptop, chromebook, or tablet with a reliable internet connection on which to take the exam (the exam may not be taken on a cell phone)
- If the device the student uses to take the exam does not have video/audio capability, they will need a second device that does
- A pencil and scrap paper
- Calculators are not permitted
Tech Support
One week prior to the exam date, we will send you an email with instructions for testing your device, completing practice test questions, and troubleshooting any issues. We ask that you complete your tech test at least four days prior to the exam, so that we have ample time to help you correct any issues. We are happy to schedule a time prior to the exam to help you test your device and ensure you are prepared for the test date. We are unable to provide tech support on the day of the exam, so it is vital that each student test their device and setup in advance.
